The History: One of the oldest locations for a school in Washington Township, the site on which Crooked Creek currently stands has been home to a school building since 1837. The present incarnation was opened for the 1985-86 school year. The name of the school is derived from the creek which borders the southeast corner of the site as a tributary to Lake Sullivan and White River. Many large trees are scattered in this area as well as an open grassy meadow with wildflowers and butterfly gardens. The SerVaas log cabin was added to the grounds in 2003, and a rain garden and native prairie plantings soon after.
